Culture

We so excited to introduce you to Headlight!! Here is our story. Established in 2011 by two psychiatrists in La Jolla, CA, SokyaHealth initially operated as a traditional behavioral health practice. Over the past decade, it expanded across Southern CA, Oregon, and Alaska. In response to the pandemic, virtual capabilities were integrated, leading to further expansion into four additional western states (WA, CO, ID, TX). This growth resulted in an increased number of clinicians, specialties, and patients, currently employing over 150 clinicians and serving thousands monthly.

In early 2023, SokyaHealth underwent a significant transformation, securing funding and introducing experienced healthcare leaders. Led by President Dr. Manish Sheth and a skilled team, the organization now known as Headlight Health, prioritizes clinician needs, values clinician feedback, and remains Clinician-Focused. The new leadership, with backgrounds at Pill Pack and Amazon, focuses on enhancing clinician experience and support, customer acquisition, clinical outcomes, care coordination, and overall sustainable growth. The legacy of SokyaHealth continues under this revitalized approach.

What makes Headlight Clinician Focused?

  • We are a mental health organization founded and led by experienced mental health clinicians.

  • We learn from our clinicians - throughout our history we have listened to clinicians’ feedback to improve the client and clinician experience.

  • We do not believe the “growth at all costs” model works in mental health care.

  • An executive team with experience leading healthcare organizations, providing stability for clinicians and greater access for clients.

  • We prioritize your well-being and aim to prevent burnout. Our full-time W-2 clinicians are based on 25 billed hours per week, emphasizing work-life balance, flexibility, and time for self-care.

  • Access to Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Resources: Earn CEU days, receive reimbursements for CEU's, and have dedicated time each week to focus on your professional development.

  • We offer strong administrative support for our clinicians, reducing the burden of billing and paperwork, so you can focus on what you love—providing care.

  • Enjoy Clinical Independence: You have the autonomy to make decisions about patient care and treatment while having the backing and guidance of our experienced executive Psychologists and Psychiatrists for case consultations.

  • Be part of a collaborative team environment and a supportive community. We organize our clinicians into small teams of 10 to 12 individuals, each with a clinical lead for assistance. You're never alone in your journey.

  • Participate in our weekly lecture series hosted by our leading clinicians. This is an opportunity each week to attend informative sessions on various mental health topics.

"I work with clients as a supportive and empowering partner in their life journey while they work to find their paths, healing, and purpose. Instead of finding solutions for the problems that bring them to therapy, I work to empower them so that they learn to find solutions for themselves."
