Diversity & Inclusion

At Kantar, we aim to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can grow and flourish, as well as helping our clients understand the diverse nature of their own customers. Diversity drives innovation and creativity, enabling us to better serve the needs of our clients. Inclusion creates a culture of belonging, where everyone is empowered to succeed.

Creating an inclusive culture and society

We strive to create a diverse and inclusive workplace, through our talent acquisition, local workplace policies, training and positive company culture. We also help our clients understand their customers better, and address their business challenges through the lens of inclusion and diversity.

Diverse talent and inclusive hiring practices

We want to attract, retain and develop a diverse mix of talented individuals, and create an inclusive culture where everyone can succeed. In each region, we focus on I&D initiatives that have a big impact locally. These range from inclusive behaviour training to flexible working policies, from neurodiversity workshops to return-to-work programmes for people who have taken career breaks.

We are changing how we recruit people to be more inclusive. We support a number of global virtual networks where people connect on key topics, including Pride @ Kantar, Colourful @ Kantar, Women of Kantar and the Neurodiversity Network. And we celebrate events such as International Women’s Day and Pride through global programmes.

Bold and inclusive leadership

We are committed to helping Kantar leaders build and foster a diverse workplace. Our leaders must be aware of leading and behaving inclusively, really care about inclusion, and dare to be different.

Our global priority is to see more diversity in our leadership, starting with gender. Progress is positive, but we have work to do. We set targets on our succession plans, talent grids, and high potential lists to deliver a fair process that encourages men and women equally through the pipeline.

We offer mentoring schemes for senior women, and our Empowering Growth programme is available to our leaders. This focuses on the behaviour change needed to create a culture of inclusion – one that enables the business and our employees to flourish.

We are eternally curious

At Kantar we always want to understand the world better… and we offer a huge range of training programmes, learning tools, internal platforms and educational initiatives to make that happen. From LinkedIn learning to Google Squared, in-person training to informal sharing, our learning culture helps us all grow.

Make a difference

We aim to bring out the best in you, while helping you do the same for others. As a company focused on human understanding, it’s imperative we reflect the world we live in. We celebrate and support the differences of our people. Kantar is a global company with a local feel. While we have global initiatives to bring us together – like our partnership with Special Olympics and virtual interest groups on plenty of topics – we also enjoy regular local events, from football teams and yoga clubs to choirs and local celebrations. You also get two days off each year to volunteer for a cause you feel passionately about.

Social impact

Extraordinary People: how we approach Community Impact at Kantar

Our ‘Extraordinary People’ Community Impact programme includes volunteering and pro bono efforts, fundraising activities, and our global partnership with Special Olympics… all of which deliver positive change in over 90 countries.

Our partnership with Special Olympics

At Kantar, we know the world is not just extraordinary, it is hugely varied. In the work we do (and the way we do it) we know the importance of inclusion and diversity. So we are very proud to be global partners of Special Olympics, helping in their mission to end the ongoing discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities, and create an inclusive world for all. We contribute towards their Global Youth Leadership programme, which brings together youth leaders with and without intellectual disabilities at nearly 200 global, national and local summits. These summits give youth leaders a platform to discuss and implement inclusion-based projects in their own communities, creating a generational shift in schools and communities around the world.

The Team Kantar Challenge 2021

This year’s Virtual Team Kantar Challenge was an exciting adventure with team spirit and healthy competition a-plenty as 130 teams raced from New Zealand to Canada. Over the 30-day challenge, our teams trekked 120k miles whilst raising money to support Special Olympics' mission of creating a more inclusive world for all.

“The Team Kantar Challenge was an amazing experience and a thrilling challenge full of twists, turns, ups and downs! So proud to have completed it successfully.”

Jitendra Sharma, Project Management, Delhi

Giving time: Volunteering

Kantar employees make a positive difference to the communities we are based in. Around the world, we give our time and our expertise to local organisations who need our help. Globally, we can take at least two paid days off each year, to volunteer for non-profit organisations we feel passionately about. During our annual global Extraordinary People Week, every Kantar office takes part in volunteering and fundraising activities to give back to local communities.
